Fourth of July Thanks

And now it is time to say THANK YOU….

It was a great 4th of July and many people helped to make that happen. Here are the names of folks who had a part in producing Shaw Island’s Fourth of July, 2007.

Joni Fowler did a wonderful job of organizing folks to manage each event. It was Joni’s idea to have hot dogs at the park after the parade!

Thank you to:

Joyce and Barney Mansfield, for being such gracious parade marshals

Ed Luttrell, for again organizing the parade and awarding all those priceless trophies

Buni Lynch, Joan Twitchell and Zora Edwards for the great job of judging the parade and to Brian Lynch for suggesting categories for parade entries! Johnny Depp!!

Joni Fowler and Jason Williams, for cleaning the picnic area at the county park and organizing the hot dogs—a super addition to the day!

Phil Ekstrom, Joni, Jason, and Liz for cooking those “dogs”

Holli Kongorski, for the games! That was fun—how about a “senior division” next year?

Caryn Buck and Andy Thomas, for allowing us, to once again, use the Nichol’s Field for the ball game

Jack Rawls, for working overtime to mow the field when the weather wasn’t co-operating

Roman Miller, for coming to our rescue to clear the diamond area

Paul Gingerich, for marking the ball diamond

Pete Nelsen, for giving the diamond the final “haircut”

Del Laursen, for again organizing us into teams

Sharon Wootton, for again that enthusiastic umpiring

Maggie Savage, for scoring the game

and To all the ball players-----it was fun to be a spectator!

For those of you who enjoyed the Island Stage Left production: for being in the audience and showing your appreciation by having a good time.

Allison and Jed Lengyel, for again hosting the Shaw Regatta—prizes, glory & fun

Joanne Fraser and Sandy Kay, for organizing the “Kids Raffle” (many of us wished we could participate in this!)

Bill Reeve and the Worship Group, for organizing the BBQ, once again

Lola Deane and her “tasters”, for again the potato salad and baked bean contest

Liz Stedman, for organizing the “Adult Raffle”

Joni Fowler and Carolyn Brantigan, for poster making and arranging of raffles

Kay Miller, for the “Fish Pond”—what good fishing this year!

Ellen Bollard, for face painting—the flags were great…

Ray Glaze, for all his expertise on the computer, making the whole process of auction items, bidders and $$$ very much easier

Jerry Molitor, for doing a great job as our resident auctioneer—yet again—

And

Jason Vance, Paul Gingerich, Matt Miller for working long hours to provide us with such a wonderful sound system!

What a 4th—what a community! Thanks to everyone who supported Shaw Inc by participating in all these events. It was fun—
